It has become so popular that Scrum has become synonymous with agile; when you ask someone if their organisation has implemented agile they reply "well, we are doing Scrum".

The problem is, most places are doing Scrum badly - so badly in fact that they aren't agile at all. It's a consequence of the vast array of Scrum training offered by large training houses - where all the trainers do is train. They train the theory without understanding the implementation.
